Everyone loves a deck. There is something very attractive about a backyard deck that makes you just want to kick back and relax. In India, composite decking materials are beginning to enter the market, but the advantages of such decking cannot be fully realized.

Here, the Pros of WPC Decking are explained in detail.

1. Low Maintenance

There is at least no maintenance as the biggest benefit of composite decking (otherwise known as WPC). Unlike natural wood, composite decking does not rot, fade, discolour, bend, warp and attract termites. Natural wood requires regular lubrication or staining (at least once a year) at significant cost in both time and material. Composite decking eliminates these costs. Remember your weekend!

2. It Is Good For the Environment

Most WPC Boards are made of recycled materials for up to 90% of the total structure. These materials are typically reclaimed as hardwoods and recycled plastics, reducing the amount of plastics for landfills. Some suppliers also have FSC accreditation, which ensures responsible use of wood in construction. It is worth noting that you should avoid decking that uses rice pulp instead of reclaimed hardwoods, as this material cannot be recycled and tends to absorb moisture, leading to war and time First decay.

3. It Is Supplied In Standard Sizes

The WPC deck is supplied in standard width and length, helping to ensure that you get maximum profitability. This also means that you will not have to search for the proper size and grade of the board through your wood delivery. This can greatly reduce waste on your project. Longer length also means less engagement, which reduces the risk of expansion.

4. Installation Can Be Really Inexpensive

As composite decking boards are standardized and are generally much larger then natural wood boards, installation costs can actually be reduced. The reason for this is that larger boards mean that larger areas can be inserted more quickly, potentially saving labor costs. Roofs supplied under the surface or with 'hidden' fixings also require fewer screws than natural wood, which requires a minimum of 4 screws for each board, regardless of length.

High-strength WPC allows for larger spans in the sub frame, again reducing material and labor costs.

5. Can Be Used In Marine Areas

Thanks to its non-corrosive properties, the WPC Decking is ideal for marine, jetties, pianos and adjoining spa and swimming pools. It will not come into contact with water or attract mold. Most of the compounds are also slip resistant, very practical in wet areas.

6. Simple to Install

Composite decking is usually installed on a sub-frame, just like natural wood, and can therefore be used in place of wood without replacing the frame. Fixing decks under the surface make the board much faster and easier, meaning you can DIY and save the tradesmen from paying!

7. Use Concealed Fasteners to Create a Stylish and Secure Look

Beneath the surface, or 'hidden' arrangements combine is sleek and clean appearance. These fixations not only look great, but are very easy to install and provide barefoot protection by placing sharp screws and nails securely in place below the surface.

8. Look great!

Early composite decks looked and felt more like plastic than wood, but the new designs have come full circle - your friends might not be able to tell the difference! WPC Decking is now available in a vast range of colors, profiles and finishes, the choice is yours.

Avoid increasing the value and maintenance of your home by installing a quality WPC Decking this weekend.
